LM IoT Edge - edgars - 06.05.2020 Hi all! we are willing finally to launch our LM IoT Edge controller (maybe several versions?) which might bring much broader markets and solutions possible (out of regular home automation). We would appreciate your thoughts and ideas about perfect device for your solution. Here is what we have on today. And what is possible:
Thanks in advance! RE: LM IoT Edge - Bitver - 06.05.2020 Debian based firmware, open platform, built-in Zigbee, LAN, KNX (and CAN FT, but idk), RS485 and all in one is most fairy device could ever be. Of course there must be robust and user-friendly software which looks like Mi Home or Smartthings, not the current Mosaic is. Zigbee should support all devices possible updating device profiles from your server. Still I does not understand why LoRa is your choice and why it is needed, can't see any "broad market user" use cases. BLE should go in pair with NFC to quick connect to smartphone. Otherwise BLE is redundant. LTE module should work out of box without any settings, otherwise it is redundant. IMHO Good luck RE: LM IoT Edge - Daniel_LM - 06.05.2020 Hi Edgars, I think that can be your best seller, depending solution/cost. More and more clients ask for solutions to monitor consumption, technical alarmes, temperatures, etc I know that some brands are developing sensors with sim prepaid data-plan for 10 years that read values in the installation and write to cloud (their own cloud). This LM IoT Edge can be a good solution because we can read other sensors and can be configured to write to different platforms. My opinion is to have different LM IoT Edge, with different communication interfaces and different costs, but there should have one low cost with: [*]1 x LAN with Passive PoE [*]1 x CAN FT (if don't increase price) [*]LoRa 433 built-in [*]LTE module with SIM holder [*]Two options of SIM - either we supply prepaid data-plan for 10 years / 500 MB (Europe, Russia, USA, China) [*]Zigbee All the IP interfaces that already have in LM (Modbus, Bacnet, KNX, etc) RE: LM IoT Edge - tpospichal - 07.05.2020 Hi you have new product thats fine, but I really do not understand why you work on new product when: New iOS application is not released Touch visualisation is not completely done (need improvement like multiselect, copy etc.) Mosaic 3.0 is horrible. Last official firmware is 2017... Legacy Siri support... a lot of significant improvements should be done but there is no visible progress for years RE: LM IoT Edge - edgars - 07.05.2020 (06.05.2020, 13:35)Bitver Wrote: Still I does not understand why LoRa is your choice and why it is needed, can't see any "broad market user" use cases. Thanks for your comments. Regarding your doubts on LoRa:
RE: LM IoT Edge - admin - 07.05.2020 As for new FW we're committed to release a stable version this summer with some new features included. RC versions can be used as well as they do not have any major bugs. |
