Modbus Protocol - Nir70 - 12.12.2022

Hello, how do I send object address  in KNX  1.3.100 value 1 or 0 via Modbus protocol? Thanks  Huh

RE: Modbus Protocol - admin - 12.12.2022

Which connection type: TCP or RTU? Is LM master or slave?

hello . on  tcp can you send me 2 solution   master and slave ?   . Arrow   Thanks

RE: Modbus Protocol - admin - 13.12.2022

For master mode use Modbus tab (profiles). For slave use this script: https://forum.logicmachine.net/showthread.php?tid=4288&pid=27726#pid27726

RE: Modbus Protocol - manos@dynamitec - 22.12.2022

Hello Admin,

I have a situation where I need to read data from an modbus rtu energy meter but cannot connect this directly on the RS485 port because it's far away and there is no cable at the point.
There is although network available nearby and I would like to ask if the following interface will do to be able to read the data over Modbus TCP instead, using the profiles in the LM.

https://www.intesis.com/docs/librariesprovider11/manuals-design-guides/user-manuals/protocol-tranlsators/user-manual-inmbsrtr0320000.pdf?sfvrsn=c0d55fd7_14

It's a little tricky because in the 1st page of the manual it is written that this is a modbus master on the RTU side and slave on the TCP side but later on page 9 Section 3.1 it is mentioned that a Modbus tcp client is needed and then again later on section 3.2.3 the following.

3.1 Pre-requisites
It is necessary to have a Modbus TCP client device operative and well connected to the corresponding Modbus port
of Intesis and a Modbus RTU slave connected to its corresponding port as well.

3.2.3 Configuration tab
Select the Configuration tab to configure the connection parameters. Three subsets of information are shown in this
window: General (Gateway general parameters), Modbus slave (Modbus TCP slave interface configuration) and
Modbus Router (Modbus TCP & RTU interfaces parameters).

Normally this is the correct device to use but I would like a confirmation. Any input is appreciated.

Regards

Never used this Intesis but it should do the trick. Schneider has something like this https://www.se.com/uk/en/product/TSXETG100/ethernet-modbus-gateway-router-classb10-10baset-100basetx/

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately the TSXETG100 is discontinued and not available in Belgium.

Also there is big problem with devices delivery this period. The intesis is something we can get pretty soon.

You can also use another LM just for this Smile

Very true but its not cost efficient Smile. That was the original plan to go over KNX IP routing but... the client wants a cheaper solution.

RE: Modbus Protocol - manos@dynamitec - 22.12.2022

I have had the confirmation from the manufacturer that this device will do the job.
Thank you again for the great support and forum.

Merry Xmas to everyone and all the best for the coming year.  Wink
