Multicast issue - balatis - 19.07.2024 Hello, We are working on a project with 4 lines, 4 IP Routers and 1 LM. When we configure LM with the following settings*(attached photo), the multicast connection is interrupted and the IP routers are not shown in ETS- KNX Connections. No filters are active. Why this happens? Thank you in advance. RE: Multicast issue - Daniel - 19.07.2024 Can you try disabling Pass individual telegrams option and see if it is still happening? RE: Multicast issue - Erwin van der Zwart - 20.07.2024 Is the LM only connected to IP or also to a TP line? RE: Multicast issue - Erwin van der Zwart - 20.07.2024 Do you have a managed switch? RE: Multicast issue - admin - 22.07.2024 Can you run Wireshark on your PC and provide traffic capture for both cases - when LM is connected or not? Use this filter: _ws.col.protocol=="KNXnet/IP" Export using File > Export Specified Packets, make sure that only Displayed packets are exported. OK, thank you for the response. The project is far away, so we will try it when we are there. RE: Multicast issue - JMemphix - 31.07.2024 Is there a preference between using Multicast and IP addressing? Could asked for both IP Routers, and again for LM5s. RE: Multicast issue - admin - 31.07.2024 Tunneling allows only one-to-one connections while Routing (multicast) allows communication between multiple KNX/IP devices on the same network. If you have more than 2 KNX/IP devices then multicast must be used. RE: Multicast issue - balatis - 07.09.2024 Hello! The issue we had, has been solved. The router, by default, didn't allow multicast communication. That was the reason. Thank you for your time and responses. |
