Zigbee range - Novodk - 17.03.2025 Can two ZigBee RS232 gateways be connected to a single LM5L? If so what is the max length of the RS232 cable? (15m?) Or is it better to buy a KCDZ and connect a ZigBee RS232 gateway to that instead? The problem is that the building is a bit too large (650m2 3 floors) for 1 ZigBee gateway. Any suggestions? Maybe two KCDZ? RE: Zigbee range - Daniel - 17.03.2025 You can connect only one device to RS232. Zigbee is a mesh network so with correct planning(zigbee routers) the distance can be quite big. I think it would be smarter to have two LMs with zigbee in two different locations. KCDZ has only build in antenna so it do not have very long range. RE: Zigbee range - Novodk - 17.03.2025 okay, the customer needs 20 wiser push buttons(ZigBee), do they "mesh" ? I have some Silvercrest Smart Plugs at home and they have the function "Allow joining through this device" but the Wiser buttons don't have that. Is that only joining, or is it "mesh" capability? And no matter how many Zigbee devices I have at home they all go directly to the gateway if I look at the "Network Map". I just googled Zigbee extender and I can see that you can get some cheap repeaters/extenders, would that work? RE: Zigbee range - Daniel - 17.03.2025 Mostly all mains powered devices does it, if they are battery powered then no. |
