Just wondering about the objects tab, think i know the answer but will make sure.
Group address is tied to Mosaic and Visualization, scripts etc.
But there is no issue deleting all objects in objects tab, and reimporting the knx file.
Only thing lost is log, and export connections.
All other things will start working again when objects are reimported.
Is this the right conclusion?

If you changed dpt while importing ESF file, Vis parameters and the custom value will be gone. You will need to set it again. All the Visualisation/Mosaic, scripts, etc will be fine.
