connecting between two LM in different networks
#1
Hello everyone!

I am a beginner, asking for your advice. I have two LM controllers, one on the 192.168.x.x network and the other on the 172.x.x.x network. How to make them optimally exchange data?

Is it possible to connect LMs by KNX?

KNX works only the same subnet. If you connect both to same Zerotier network it might work, not sure how stable.

Thank you! Or we can use Modbus serial?

If you can pool the cable then yes. You will need slave on one and master on second.

We have two LM on the same 2-wire TP-UART line. Can we not change a value on 1 LM, and see the result on the other LM, without it transfering over IP?

If they have TP connected then both will see each telegrams. If you do that on one subnet then you will create knx loop. In such case you ether disable KMX IP or change multicast
