Processes being stopped automatically

We are running a GO application on the LM5 Lite (i.MX6) with 249 MB ram.
However once the application needs more than ~12.8 MB ram it's being stopped by (presumably) the controller.

Can this behavior be changed?

In case of an out-of-memory event LM will reboot automatically. If your LM does not reboot then your application crashes for some other reason than the RAM usage.
