Hi,

If we have an IP main line (1.0.x) and a LM connected to it and its TP line is 1.1.x we should select KNX connection mode as "IP Routing", isn't it?

If the connect mode is set to "TP-UART", if i'm not wrong, by default all traffic is sent between TP and IP side.

So, in practice, which is the difference between these modes?

LM mode defines how LM is connecting to KNX, tp-uart is TP and IP, Routing is only IP.

I thought that routing was used as a line copuler between the main line IP and a secondary line TP...
If is not like this in which cases is routing used?

Just use TP uart when you have TP connected, routing when no TP

The name is a bit confusing...

Is it like this?
  • "Routing IP" disables TP line
  • If we have TP and don't want to use IP side "TP-UART" without KNX IP features
  • If we want LM a line coupler between TP and IP "TP-UART" with KNX IP features (and source adress like X.X.0)
  • Tunneling to establish tunneling connection to LM (like a KNX IP interface)

The last sentence is not correct, If you select tunneling then LM will connect to another IP interface via tunneling. You can connect to LM via tunneling always as long KNX IP features are enabled. If you use only secure communication then this will also disable tunneling as this part is not secured yet.
