Two Logic Machine in Project
#1
Hi I have a KNX project in which there are three areas, each area has 8 Lines and in each line we are using KNX IP Router as Line coupler.
Now we need to Control and Monitor all three areas and create a GUI for same.
Could you please guide me how many LM5 we have to use in this project and there placement in KNX topology.
Sharing with you the topology we have created.

Hi, how many group addresses per area? Are you going to pass all to LM or only some? What else is LM going to do apart of GUI?

Total group address per area is around 1200, apart from GUI there will be time scheduling, some logical scripting also we have to send data to BMS system over BACnet.

I would use one per area and this would dance nicely. You could try with one but it would depend on the other load you mentioned. If the traffic will be high this also might affect it. They should be placed on the IP side and set KNX mode to IP routing.

Hi Thanks, Now I am using 1 LM5 for each area, Could you please guide me how will I make the Visualization of the complete project i.e all three area into one. Can I choose any one LM5 (out of three) for Complete Visualization or I have to make Visualization separately for each area in their respective LM5. If there is the possibility with latter one option then how to combine all three Visualization into one.
TIA

The most common way is to make local visu on each LM and then select one where you will create links between so it looks like one. You can use frame or just a link.

Hi, I am using link to navigate to visualization on other LM5, but every time it is asking for login credentials of other LM5.
How can I access the visualization by just login into one LM5 of other LM5.

This has been identified and it is new browser security feature. Next firmware will have additional option to allow this anyway.
