Push notifications on LM5 Lite – PP Push Notification no longer available
#1
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased new Logic Machine devices with the following specifications:
  • HW: LM5 Lite (i.MX6)
  • SW: 20240426
On older Logic Machine models, I used the PP Push Notification app to receive alert messages on my mobile phone, triggered by events and alarms I created. This worked very well for me.
However, on these new LM5 Lite devices, the PP Push Notification app is no longer available, and with the new notification apps/services, I’m not able to receive push messages on my phone for some alerts that I would like to implement.
My questions are:
  1. What is the recommended way to send push notifications to mobile phones on LM5 Lite with recent firmware?
  2. Is there a replacement for PP Push Notification, or an official supported solution?
  3. Are there examples or documentation for configuring mobile notifications for custom alerts?
Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the explanation and for the step-by-step guide.
I tested the LM Home app, and it works well for receiving push notifications.
The main issue in my case is related to the end user experience.
I installed the Logic Machine in a client’s house, and the client wants to use only one app on the mobile phone.
Currently:
  • The client uses the LogicMachine app to view and control the custom interface that I created for his user.
  • The LM Home app is required only to receive notifications, but it does not show the custom UI/interface.
So my question is:
  • Is it possible to have both push notifications and interface visualization in the same app?
  • Or is there any way to send notifications that can be received directly in the LogicMachine app, without requiring LM Home as a second app?
The goal is to keep things as simple as possible for the end user, with a single application for control and notifications.
Thank you in advance for your help.

LM home app is replacement for old LogicMachine app. You can use it for both.

Thank you for the clarification.
I tested the LM Home app, but at the moment I’m not able to access or visualize the custom UI/interface that I created on the Logic Machine, like I can with the LogicMachine app.
Currently, in LM Home, I can:
  • receive push notifications
But I cannot:
  • see or interact with the custom visualization / user interface
So I would like to better understand:
  • Is there any additional configuration required to make the custom UI visible in LM Home?
  • Are all visualizations supported, or only specific UI components?
  • Or is the LogicMachine app still required for full UI access?
My concern is that the end user wants to use only one app, and at the moment the interface is accessible only via the LogicMachine app.
Thank you in advance for the clarification.

While you are on the same network as LM, long press the LM home app icon and select Settings and then you have options to add LM automatically or manually. Do not use admin account as it will not be remembered.
