based from this forum post https://forum.logicmachine.net/showthrea...=tailscale
I know natively zerotier is built in but for an application i wanted to add to my tailnet.
So I've put together a small Tailscale app for ARMv7 LogicMachine controllers. It
provides private remote access to the LM web interface and its native KNX/IP
tunnel, with no inbound port forwarding or DDNS setup required.
This has been tested remotely with ETS6 Group Monitor, an
ABB i-bus Tool DALI line scan and a successful ETS application download to an
HDL device.
The app deliberately stays focused on the LM itself. Subnet routing and exit
nodes are excluded. If you need general access to other Ethernet devices, use
a dedicated subnet router. A recent field snapshot was about 33 MiB for the
Tailscale daemon; earlier one-day observations were around 30–33 MiB. This is
observed usage, not a fixed memory cap.
Compatibility: ARMv7 LogicMachine. The KNX integration checks the exact
supported 20251204 firmware components and refuses unknown versions. This
package is not for SHAC/AC2/NAC2. - an installer can be found on Cbus community forums for that
Quick setup:
1. Install the IPK through Apps → application administration (+) → Install
from file. It is an unsigned community app: use the option to install
without a signature file. Do not use System Packages.
2. Run preflight, start and enable at boot, then connect the LM to your own
Tailscale account. Your laptop also needs Tailscale and authorised access.
3. Use Check KNX access, then Enable KNX for tailnet clients. This briefly
restarts the KNX service; installing the IPK alone does not enable it.
4. In ETS/i-bus Tool, select the LM's Tailscale IPv4 address, UDP port 3671,
with NAT mode enabled. Add the connection manually; multicast discovery
is not provided.
I have it running on 2 LM for a while now but I can only limit test to
my requirements. If you experience issues Please report the LM model, firmware, app/page version and exact operation
tested. Remove account keys, sign-in links and private site details from any
public diagnostics. This is an ASG project, not an official
LogicMachine or Tailscale product.
