Remote services group name

Hi,
I'm testing the possibility of managing some points via remote services (json, xml), and to identify the 'alias' I would like to use the name and not the address, but if the name contains spaces and/or some characters (. _) it replies that can't find the object, is there a way to send the name containing these characters? I've tried putting it between ' ' and " ", but it doesn't seem to work.

Name/alias must be url-encoded. Space character can be replaced with either %20 or +
