Fallo recuperacion Backup
#1
Muchas gracias.

How should I send the backup? It does not allow me to upload it in the post.

You backup is over the limit (32MB). Open the archive using 7-Zip and delete some icons/images in storage directory. You can upload these media files later manually.

The general rule is not to use PNG for photos. Use JPEG instead. Alternatively you can use https://tinypng.com/ to reduce your PNG image size.

Good morning,
After reviewing the situation, we believe that the main issue is that the backups we created do not contain all the information from the LogicMachine.
When restoring them on the new device:
  • Visualizations are not recovered
  • KNX objects are not loaded
  • Schedules, trends, and other data are missing
  • Only the scripts backup has been successfully restored
This leads us to think that the backups were not generated completely or do not include all system elements.
We are especially concerned that, if the original device is repaired and its internal data is lost during the process, all the work done would be permanently lost.
Is it possible that backups do not automatically include certain data (such as visualizations or the KNX database) unless specific options are selected when creating them?
Is there a recommended procedure to ensure that the backup is complete and valid for restoration on another device?
Has anyone experienced or reported a similar issue with incomplete backups?
Thank you very much.

Did you clear the cache? I restored your backup after removing an image and few icons and it works fine.

Good morning,
What would be the correct procedure to restore a backup on a LogicMachine?
Based on our tests, we believe the process should be as follows. Please confirm if this is correct or let us know if there are any mistakes:
  1. Reset the LogicMachine to factory defaults to start from a clean state.
  2. Update the firmware and signature to the same version as the original LogicMachine at the time the backup was created.
  3. From System Config → System, restore the configuration using the modified backup you provided (which you confirmed is working correctly).
Is this procedure correct?
Thank you in advance.

Backup is restored via LogicMachine - Utilities - Restore.

Thank you for your reply.
Just to confirm, the correct procedure would be:
  1. Reset the LogicMachine to factory defaults (if needed).
  2. Update firmware and signature to match the original device (if required).
  3. Restore the backup from LogicMachine → Utilities → Restore.
Is that correct?
Additionally, when restoring the backup using this method, is the entire system configuration also restored?
For example: IP settings, ZeroTier configuration, KNX gateway settings, etc.
Finally, is it mandatory to match the firmware/signature version before restoring the backup, or can it be restored on a newer version?
Thank you for your help and patience, as we are beginners with this device and we do not yet fully master it.

Correct, but usually factory reset is not needed before restoring a backup.

It's safe to restore a backup on the same or newer firmware version. Backup restored on an older firmware is not guaranteed to work correctly.

Main backup contains the project data (objects, scripts, trends, visualization etc) and certain system settings like KNX. But it does not contain IP address, admin password and other System config settings. For these settings use backup/restore option in System config.
