LTE modem for Wiser
#1
Good morning.
What is a good LTE modem to use with Wiser for KNX that is trouble-free and easy to configure?

You can't use a USB LTE modem, but any external router with LTE and Ethernet will work.

I would prefer a USB modem, since the Wiser is already on the network with the router and gateway configured; I wouldn't know how to route emails and SMS messages to the LTE router without causing a network configuration conflict. Regarding emails, can the Wiser also access Exchange or Office 365 mail servers?

Many thanks.

As already mentioned, USB modems are not supported for LTE connectivity. SMS should work with certain USB modems.

Local network communication will still work when LTE router is set as a default gateway. More complex setups are possible by specifying manual routes.

Do you want to send emails via Exchange/Office 365 or read incoming emails?

This device can send emails and SMS: https://mikrotik.com/product/knot_embedded_lte4
LM can communicate with it via API: https://kb.logicmachine.net/integration/mikrotik/

It should work but we haven't tested this solution.
