Wireless, small, reliable range, energy efficient sensors
#1
Hello,

Do you have some nice wireless sensors which can work with LM? They're should work with other so probably the best would be some wireless system of sensors based on ZigBee or Wifi, or 433MHz which can be integrated with LM.

The most important for me is:
- brightness sensor (because ceiling is not the best place for it and in some cases value correction not helping enough in dark places),

Of course if you have some checked solution for temperature, humidity, presence sensor it would be interesting for future.

What about this device? Is it possible to integrate with LM?

Right now LM supports only ZigBee HA 1.2. Most 3.0 devices are backward compatible so they can be connected to HA 1.2 gateway but this is not guaranteed.

Thank you admin for concrete data.

Currently how can I start with ZigBee on LM?

Do I need some Zigbee gateway? Do you have some basic scripts/app?

We would need to send you USB module and the beta app. Do you want to be beta tester?

Of courseSmile,  please give me some example of devices which will work for sure. For start I can buy for sure brightness sensor and wireless contacts.

I also have some SE products like single switch actuator, temp/humidity sensor, Wall plug.

Most mains-powered devices like lamps/sockets can also act as a router and pass messages to the gateway.

Hi,

if not a problem I also want to test Zigbee devices. I have LM5 Reactor Dimmer KNX at home. And in one nearest possible project I have Zigbee LED drivers (Hue mentioned, so hope should work..) But of course distance and stability, quantity of devices is very interesting..

Hi,
Zigbee dongle installed, zigbee package 20201002 also installed. LM5 rebooted, Zigbee application not seen in between other apps... Also I used USB Hub (modem connected to usb before). Noticed that not enough power. I thing somewhere was recommended use separate power for USB hub.. Will connect it.

How to do Zigbee apps. visible?

There is no zigbee package only Zigbee app? Did you install it as a package from system? Do not use the usb hub

Daniel,

vice versa. I see package installed but Zigbee app not exist (not seen among others). Hmm regarding USB HUB - I also use SMS modem connected to USB.. Does it mean that only Zigbee USB dongle should be used and no any other USB devices??

Let's start from the beginning. Where from did you get the app and how did you install it? For testing Zigbee keep any unnecessary points of failure.

Just today I bought dongle from OpenRB, and received from Edgars zigbee-20201002.ipk I installed it over System --> Packages -->Add Package. Reboot my LM5.

After rebooting I found out that visualization not working, but ping to my LM is OK. Problem was my USB Hub, connected without additional power supply. I removed it and connected dongle directly. in log I see dongle appeared. Zigbee application anyway not seen..

You need to install the app via the store not as a package. On the main apps screen click the user icon, then + icon when logged in as admin. Click the menu in the top left side and select "Install from file".

Hi,

anyway zigbee app should me more deeply checked. Zigbee dongle connected directly to USB port of my LM5. I saw not all today trends are visible on visualisation. I pressed LogicMachine icon and just empty page was shown. I restarted LM, and it not helps. I just removed and inserted zigbee dongle again to LM. LM fully loaded, but anyway very big consumption:

@admin: Is the zigbee app and dongle compatible with the SpaceLYnk as well?

Hi,

just need some comments about my log picture above. Is it normal such consumption for command for zigbee app.? My LM shows 100% PLC usage, what else to check?
