Smoke sensor is trivial, it will added in the next version. Thermostat is more complicated because it seems to have a slightly different behavior that other thermostats that we tested.
We do not plan to support all possible ZigBee devices due to such differences between different manufacturers. We will provide a list of fully tested and recommended devices later on.
