I am reading quite high bus load on the LM. Accessing the bus monitor in ETS shows little load. Any suggestions as to what could cause this?

Your load is mostly repeats. If there are KNX devices that are sending to groups that are not connected to any other device then you can enable "ACK all group telegrams" in LM KNX settings. If repeats are from LM then you should either use virtual objects or disable "Write to bus" for applicable objects.
