Modbus datatypes
#1
Hi
First time doing this. So maybe some dummy question but question is:

Am trying to make a modbus profile. But am having some issues when trying to choose the correct datatype.
Anyone know of a guide or similar to help me on the way.

Temp and booleon is no problem. But wondering what to choose for Error codes, step statuses and so on.

Thanks in advance.

Use decimal for error code and it most likely will be uint16. Use RTU/TCP read test to check. You will need value_bitmask to encode the other datatypes. Plenty of examples on the forum.
