KNX decoding speed
#1
In a theoretical scenario I have 3 devices connected on a KNX line. The cable length between each device is 20 cm.

When a binary input is triggered I would like to know, if anyone knows:

1. How long (theory) would it take the telegram to “reach” the LM/SL/W?
2. How much processing time is there internally on LM/SL/W before the object is written into the db?

There are too many factors, it's impossible to give an exact answer.

Some things to consider:
1. Binary input might only check the input state periodically which adds a random delay between the physical input trigger and the actual telegram being sent.
2. KNX bus might be busy with other telegrams so the input state telegram is not sent right away.
3. Bus cable length does not matter.
4. LM is a shared resource system so the time between receiving the telegram and updating the database value is not constant.
