Serial to Ethernet question
#1
Hi
Can I use some Serial over IP converter with LM?
Like Moxa 5110? http://www.moxa.com/product/NPort_5110.htm

I mean not only as "telnet" but as a regular serial port.

Thank you

Hi Thomas,

I did this with another IP to Serial converter to control RGB LED drivers, maybe you can use this script to get it up and running..

.lua   Control LED RS232 Drivers over IP.lua (Size: 5.27 KB / Downloads: 35)

Hi
Actually what I need it to connect modbus. This is why I asked about emulation of a real serial port.
I'm looking for a cheap solution how to connect serial modbus device without installing a new serial cable.
Another option is to use modbus/KNX or serial modbus to IP modbus converters.
