Modbus values can't be read - stianj - 02.01.2025

Hi!

I used to have a Intesis Modbus RTU to KNX interface. First thing I did after getting the LM5 KCDZ was migrating my modbus-devices to the LM5.

This generally worked fine, but I have one problem I haven't figured out yet. I (still) also have a Gira Homeserver 4. I'm slowly migrating away from that, but as of now I'm still using that one for Visu. When the Gira HS restarts, it's supposed to read a few of the Group Adresses that is coming from Modbus via LM. This does not work. When the values are changed, the values are also updated on the Gira HS, but for the values that rarely change, the Visu on the Gira HS shows "0" for hours or days. (And I also get "Scan-Fehler" on the Debug site of the Gira HS for these GAs)

I don't have TP connected to my LM5 - so both the LM5 and the Gira Homeserver is connected via my KNX IP-router. Both LM5 and Gira HS have the same multicast ip, I have disabled both IP > Local and Local > IP filters. LM5 is in IP Routing mode. Should it be tunnel when there is nothing connected to TP?

On the Modbus-side of things, I have "Write to bus" enabled on the object mapping, and Export enabled on the GA (have no idea if that is needed...)

I can share screenshots if needed, but I'm guessing someone knows... Smile
