Upgrade from FW20191015
#1
Hello

Hardware is reported as LM5 M4 (i.MX6)

I am trying to upgrade to lm5m4-20240426.img but after the coundown reaches 209 (from 300) the firmware upgrade process resets and the old firmware is still present.

I cannot find any error logs or error dialog boxes.

I guess my current firmware is too old, but I don't know where I can find the upgrade path.

Any suggestions?

As your device is quite old, you still mighty have the issue with sd card in read only mode.
Create an object, sync data and reboot. See if the object is still there.

I added a new knx object, renamed an existing one and then 'sync project'.

Unfortunately after reboot the changes are gone Sad

I noticed some objects were updated 2024.06.06 but it seems to no longer accept any updates.

Where is the sdcard and what card should I replace it with?

Is there an utility to copy from sdcard to sdcard so all settings remain?

First make yourself a backup!
You will need at last 1GB card but not bigger than 32. An industrial or SLC is recommended. In latest range we are using WesternDigiral pSLC cards and they work very well.
After powering down device you can lift the top cover with a use of screwdriver and you will see the card. Slide the holder to take it out. Fallow this instructions to replace the card.

You can try making backup of your card via this tool and restore on your new card. In this case the new card cannot be smaller then the old one.

I have Project-LogicMachine-2024.10.29-16.29.tar.gz and sysconf-LogicMachine-2024.10.29-16.51.tar.gz as backup. Would those be sufficient?

The LM5 hardware is not easily accessible... I suppose I have to remove the device to be able to open the top cover?

Do you have a part number for the Western Digital pSLC card? I found a reference to SDSDQED-008G-XI, but that doesn't seem easy to find... Can you confirm it is a microSD card? I will first order a new one before removing/powering down the device. The easiest card to acquire seems Kingston microSDHC pSLC 8Gb or 16Gb...

Yes, this is the one we use, you can find it under sandisc, its the same.
Yes it's microSD.
We have bad experience with Kingston but you can use any brand.

I'd rather not use Kingston then...

Sandisk SDSDQAF (Standard) is easy to find, the SDSDQED (Ultra) seems very hard for just one piece... Mouser sells them but the shipping cost is higher than the card itself Sad
