Open beta testing
#1
Hello everybody, we are starting Open Beta testing so everyone on the forum now has access to this previously secret location.

Installation: On the main apps screen click the + icon when logged in as admin. Click the menu in the top left side and select "Install from file". Enable "Allow to install package without signature" option.

Some info for everyone who was not involved in Closed Beta testing. This is our new Visu which combines both the current Visualization and Mosaic. There is no documentation which explain how it works but if you used our current tools, you should fairly easily get on with this one. Currently this app is just local but short in the future it will be also available trough our cloud.

We are aware that there are still many features to be added but we want to release this version as soon as possible and then we will keep adding new stuff. Feel free to make your comments and suggestions.

The widget Wishlist is here: https://forum.logicmachine.net/showthread.php?tid=5875

Please report any bugs here: https://forum.logicmachine.net/showthread.php?tid=5892

To fully play with Visu you will need new firmware. It is very stable version but as always take necessary steps before upgrade (backup!)

All firmware's are available here: https://forum.logicmachine.net/showthread.php?tid=6079

Have fun

Will this also work on the SE WISER? I guess not, but worth asking the question Wink
Schneider Wiser (homeLynk), Power Tags, DALI, Multitouch Pro, Panasonic Heating pump, Flexit balansed ventilation, HUE integration, Lemus Speaker system. Tibber integration.

@CristianAgata - it is the next step we work on but we will not be committing to any timeline.
@Stemic01 - you can loaded it there but you will not have full functionality due to new firmware needed.

No totally sure which thread to post this in, but hope this is ok!

I have been playing around with the new Visu for some weeks, and I'm not really getting comfortable with it. I was hoping there would have been more elements from old "Touch", but I understand that it's impossible to make everyone happy Smile

I'm coming from Gira Homeserver, and while there absolutely not all things are great with that one (after all, I'm migrating away from it for a reason), there are also nice things about it.

Anyway, I have some comments/problems/challenges that I will list, and hope for some comments...

1: Under "Tile view" here is a field for "Functions (tags)" - what is it used for? I was hoping/expecting that you in a plan automatically can show all functions with a certain tag - but I can't seem to figure that one out...

If it's a planned, but not yet implemented feature, I would really like if you somehow could have different "Title" for the widget when it's used "Stand alone" in a room and when it's used in a function view. For instance, in a room a widget could typically be called just "Lights" (if there's only one light source), but if I could have a plan with all widgets tagged "lights", there would be dozens for "Lights" - I would need a different title there.

(Gira Homeserver does this).

2: The "Numeric value display" doesn't work well under Tile View. It seems to show a maximum of 4 characters? So to show a temperature with unit, like "21.7 °C", it only shows "21.7..." But it also does that if I have no unit... But with 0 decimals it seems normal... Plan view is working as expected.

3: Still Tile View; is there a way to force a "new line"? I understand that this might be against the whole idea of "Tiles", but it's sometimes tidier and easier/faster to read values in a list, especially if you are looking for a certain descriptions. Like no matter the width of the screen (of course depending on the "Screen width threshold" for switching between Plan / Tile), there would be only one (or two, depending on use case, maybe) tiles in width. If this made any sense...

4: the "Plan link"-widget. It's very neat to be able to set a large icon for the Tile View - but the other settings from "Compact View" I'm not so sure about for Tile View. I can easily see use cases where you would want to have "Icon and value" and different texts for use with the Plan view, which makes the Tile view look weird...

5: I'm struggling getting the custom Javascript I have used in old Visu working. Haven't used much time on it yet, just copied and pasted. Is jQuery not a part of new Visu?

6: I'm a bit confused at the resizing of the Plan view. When I create a plan, and it's for example 1024x768 - it resizes to full screen (like 2560x1440 in my case), and that doesn't look great. Is it possible for it to show in the size it was designed for all the time?

Other than that I am of course eagerly awaiting widgets for temperature/modes. Hoping for a very customizable widget that accounts for both heating and cooling, (with "Heating message", "cooling message" and modes, maybe even fan coil control...) and a combined widget for dimming and on/off.

That's it for now... Smile

1. It's no fully implemented yet. In "function" view widgets will be grouped by their respective plans using category widgets.

2. You can adjust the font size as needed.

3. Check Category widget.

4. Use whichever mode you like Smile

5. Custom JS from old visualization won't work. New Visu doesn't use jQuery. We will provide some usage examples later on.

6. What is the use case for fixed size? The idea behind automatic scaling is to use the maximum available space on a screen with any size/resolution.

Thanks for your reply!

1: Looking forward to it!

2: I see that making the font smaller works. But it doesn't matter how big the tile is, wether it is 1x1 or 5x1 - the amount of text/numbers shown is the same... And even with 1x1 the usable amount is a very small share of the tile.

3: Yeah, that could work - if I can make it (much!) smaller with css. And I guess I can. Will experiment with that Smile

4: I don't think you see my dilemma - I can use whichever mode I want - but it's hard to make both Tile view and Plan view nice the way this is working. But it's probably not a big deal, I can make one room-view only for Tile and one only for Plan. So there is a workaround. I just don't think it's possible ((?) or at least easy) to make good looking plans for both tile and plan with same widget as it is now. I'll show you a made up example:

As you hopefully agree, the Tile view looks much better when display mode is only "Icon". But the Plan view could really benefit from showing the room name. I can of course just have a separate text label there, but it get's more complicated if/when I want to have different text/icon for active/inactive and so on. So for me at least, some further separation of options between tile and plan would be awesome - without the need to make separate plans.

5: Ok, thanks. Too bad, just spent too many weeks on implementing charts how I wanted them for the old visu Big Grin

6: The use case is that I'd be creating a Visu for a wall mounted display. But often I want or need to use that visu from a computer with much higher resolution - and I don't want nor need to make a visu for that resolution - the smaller one works just fine. But when it gets zoomed to 250% it looks like a child toy or something for very, very old people living at a care home or something Big Grin

I understand that this is not a big issue for most people, but would really, really appreciate a setting to disable automatic scaling...

Anyways, thank you very much for your work and support Smile

Hello
I'm trying the new VISU, the response speed is excellent, but I can't create a menu that is visible on all pages, in the old system I created a layout with the navigation menu and loaded it as a background, in the new one I haven't found how to do it, where am I going wrong?
Thank you very much

It is done more or less the same, In the menu on the top select Layouts and then in the Plan settings select your Layout

There is new version of the app in the original post. There are only bug fixes and few minor improvements.

PS. Visu on cloud is already working but we want to spend more time on testing it before letting you play.

Hello,
I am currently working on several projects, and it is likely that I will need to create them with Visu instead of Mosaic. I have a question regarding whether I should take the risk of using the new version or if it would be safer to go with the older version of Visu, as the installations are in remote locations and I don't want to take any chances.
Additionally, I would like to know which firmware version would be the most recommended to use.

Well, the app is still in Beta state. We can't guarantee that there wouldn't be any braking change. We don't plan it but you never know.
The Firmware above is very stable, the app seems too as not a lot was reported back.

Hi, I'll take a chance with the new version. I'd like my display to return to the home page after a while. How can I do this?

We will add this as configurable option in next version.

But speaking of next version... I know you are working on fine tuning the cloud part (which isn't of any real interest to me). But would you have a rough estimate about when you start making more widgets? It's hard to test it thoroughly without more widgets...

And also some examples for custom javascript. Admin wrote you would make some examples since you're not using jQuery anymore...

New version of the app for testing was added to the first post:
- new Light widget - a combo widget where you can chose what type of light is controlled, scale, scale + CT, scale + RGB, scale + RGBW, scale + CT + RGB, scale + CT + RGBW
- Option to go to home screen( screen saver options)
- Additional icons/values can be loaded from LM object custom values
- bug fixes
As some users started using Visu on projects, we will keep older version just in case.
