Hello,
We are experiencing an intermittent remote access issue with one of our LogicMachine 5 Lite devices and would like to know whether this behaviour is already known.
Hardware

LogicMachine 5 Lite (i.MX6)

Current firmware

Firmware: 20251204

Linux kernel: 5.10.247

Issue description
The LogicMachine is accessed remotely through a private ZeroTier network.
The behaviour is always the same:

HTTP/HTTPS access via the ZeroTier IP works normally for some time.

After an unpredictable period, the web interface stops responding.

The browser eventually reports that the device is not responding or the connection times out.

A few minutes later, without any intervention, the web interface starts working again.

The problem is completely intermittent.
Tests already performed
ZeroTier

Service enabled

Status: OK

Port: 9993

Private network

DIRECT connection (not relayed)

Connectivity

Ping through ZeroTier usually works, although larger ICMP packets show intermittent packet loss.

TCP port 80 is reachable.

TCP port 443 is reachable.

ETS6 continues communicating through the LogicMachine KNX/IP interface without interruption, even while the web interface is no longer responding.

Therefore:

ZeroTier remains connected.

KNX/IP communication continues working correctly.

The issue appears to affect only HTTP/HTTPS access through ZeroTier.

Local access
When connected to the local LAN:

The web interface is always accessible.

No communication problems have been observed.

The issue only appears when accessing the LogicMachine through ZeroTier.
System load
Average load:
0.09 / 0.09 / 0.09
The LogicMachine is almost idle, so this does not appear to be a resource issue.
Comparison with another installation
We have another installation with very similar characteristics:

Same LogicMachine 5 Lite hardware

Same ZeroTier network

Starlink Internet connection

Remote access through ZeroTier

This second installation has been operating without any issues.
Working LogicMachine

Firmware: 20250813

Uptime: more than 57 days

Problematic LogicMachine

Firmware: 20251204

Intermittent HTTP/HTTPS access over ZeroTier

At the moment, the firmware/kernel version is the only significant difference we have identified.
Additional observation
We also noticed one difference in the HTTP server configuration:
Working LogicMachine

HTTP and HTTPS enabled.

Problematic LogicMachine

HTTPS only, with automatic HTTP → HTTPS redirection.

We have intentionally not modified this setting yet in order to avoid introducing additional variables during troubleshooting.
The LogicMachine is connected to the Internet through a UniFi UDM Pro and Starlink.
We have already reviewed the gateway configuration (firewall, IDS/IPS, VPN, routing, CyberSecure, etc.) and did not find anything unusual.
Question
Is this a known issue with firmware 20251204 or Linux kernel 5.10.247?
Have you received any similar reports regarding intermittent HTTP/HTTPS access over ZeroTier?
Before downgrading the firmware to 20250813, we would like to know whether this behaviour is already known or if you recommend any additional diagnostic procedure.
If necessary, I can provide system logs, perform any additional tests you recommend, or provide any further information required.
Thank you very much.

Hey everyone,

Just looking for a general sanity check here. I'm trying to figure out if multicast is being allowed or blocked on a client's network.

My test setup:

Logic Machine (LM): 192.168.5.10 (KNX physical address 1.1.1)

KNX IP Router: 192.168.5.11 (KNX physical address 1.2.0)

Multicast Address: 224.0.23.12

Filter Tables: Everything is explicitly set to "Route" on all devices.

What works:

I can successfully ping the IP Router (192.168.5.11) from the Logic Machine.

When connected to the LM (192.168.5.10) via ETS, I can see and control everything on line 1.1.X, and the LM UI updates perfectly.

The issue:

If I connect to the IP Router (192.168.5.11) via ETS, I can only see and control things on line 1.2.X. Crucially, these telegrams are not updating or crossing over to the LM on 1.1.X

Based on these findings, it seems to me that standard unicast traffic (like pings) is fine, but multicast traffic is being blocked by the network switches. Is that a correct assumption?

And if so, what is the best way for me to test and prove this from my side? I want to gather as much concrete evidence as possible before I approach their IT department so they actually understand the issue and don't just brush it off.
Appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips!

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a collaborator for part-time support on ongoing projects involving LogicMachine, KNX systems, and in some cases integration with industrial automation environments.
I'm currently handling multiple projects and need someone to help offload part of the visualization work — with potential for the collaboration to grow beyond that over time.

The immediate focus is on visualization and UI, including:

Custom dashboards

UI/UX improvements

Custom CSS / JavaScript

Requirements (must have):

Proven experience with KNX projects

Hands-on experience with LogicMachine eco-system

Solid understanding of building automation workflows

Ability to build clean, functional, and reliable interfaces

Must be comfortable working in English or Greek in a technical environment (spoken & written)

Initial task: The first assignment will involve migrating an existing legacy visualization and Mosaic setup to the new Visu environment. Experience with the older LM visualization approaches is essential; hands-on experience with new Visu is a strong plus.

Nice to have — for broader collaboration potential:

Experience with industrial automation protocols such as Modbus, PROFINET / PROFIBUS, OPC UA

Familiarity with SCADA concepts (monitoring, alarms, data visualization, KPIs)

Collaboration can be flexible — project-based or ongoing — depending on availability and fit. Compensation is open to discussion based on experience and market standards.

If this sounds relevant, feel free to send me a message with examples of your work.

Thanks!

Hi!
I am facing an issue regarding an installation I just finished, We have 2 seperate KNX projects (Ground Floor / 1st Floor ) in which we have 2 seperate KNX power supplies and also we have 2 seperate LM5 servers. The problem is that these 2 houses shares the same network (1 network provider for both houses) .Here starts the conflict cause in ETS we have almost the same Group addresses and we have telegrams that goes to the one house to another through the LM5 devices. What can be a solution except changing the Group addresses inside ETS for one of the 2 projects ? Maybe creating a VLAN for one of the 2 houses will be a solution or not?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Good morning

I have several questions. If I have a reactor with firmware version 20240426, which I use the old display, I'm having a problem with the LM not being seen by the PCs on the network, while the panels see it correctly. Can I try updating to the latest version to see if the problem persists? Will the program remain on the old display?
I received an email from Zerotier that they'll be releasing a new version. I hope the old one stays, since the new free version only has 10 devices; otherwise, it's up to 100, which will be expensive. I use 21 devices on the VPN. Do you have any news on this?

Thank you very much. Sorry if I took the opportunity to ask several questions.

Good morning,

I wanted to ask what most often overloads a logic machine.

Since I'm asking several questions at once, you'll understand that I'm referring to the fact that I've loaded the same objects into three logic machines because they're sharing data to be sent to the screens on LM1.

But clearly, between the data sent via IP, KNX, Modbus, trends, etc.,

they get a bit overloaded, and I want to avoid that.
