SD Card for LM
#1
Hi,

What class of microSD card can we use?   Some of the cards have a higher transfer rate.  Would there be an improvement in performance from the LM's?  Is there any limitation for the microSD card,  size?   I have an old LM3 the card is going broke so I need to replace that. I will use Samsung I think.

Thanks,

Roger

Higher class is preferable, though most commonly used files are cached in RAM, so the only difference you might get is faster start-up. Sizes up to 32GB are supported, but if using a recovery image then it will still use only 4GB.

Hi Admin,

Will this work with the LM3?

Yes, any microSDHC (4-32GB) card should work.

Hi Admin,

Thanks, does the speed of the SD affect writing to script storage?

Thanks,

No, databases are stored in RAM and are synced to SD once in 30 minutes, so you won't gain much by using higher class cards. Class 10 is more than enough.

You don't need to format the card. Simply flash the whole recovery image as described here: https://openrb.com/reflash-logicmachine3...-software/

I had to replace the SD card of a Schneider Homelynk HW v1.3 because the card became read-only.  Used Sandisk 32 GB card
Recovery image created a 3rd partition of 3.25 GB.  Is there a way to extend this partition to use the full capacity of the 32 GB SD card?

SD card capacity does not matter as it is RAM which holds your horses.
